Joining Live Classes via Zoom
It is easier than ever to join dance classes online. Individual instructors, like me, are offering online wellness classes. I livestream my most popular class time, weekdays at 9 am on Zoom! We use Zoom video conferencing software that can replicate the intimacy and personal connection you would get in our in-person group class settings. Before you jump into your online dance class, it’s important to make sure you’re fully prepared so you can get the most out of your experience. But don’t worry, the set-up is easy! To help you set up for success, I’ve put together a simple checklist that covers everything from creating the right space to choosing the best clothing and making sure your device is ready to go. Whether you’re joining a live session or following along with a recorded class, this checklist will ensure you’re comfortable, focused, and ready to move!
Space: Clear an area in your home where you can move freely without obstruction.
Clothing: Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of motion.
Footwear: Nia is best practiced barefoot, but you can wear soft-soled shoes if preferred.
Device: Use a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a stable internet connection.
Audio/Video: Ensure your device’s camera and microphone work if you're joining a live class where interaction is encouraged.

The INTENT is to use breath to alchemize music and movement into a deeply meaningful and personal movement experience.
My Nia routine ALCHEMY will teach you to develop the skill of moving with dynamic ease. The sonic landscape of ALCHEMY is meant to play your body in the way that breath flows in and out of you. Breathe into the sounds, sensations, and soul of your dance-writing experience!

Choreography and Routines
Choreographing routines is one of my greatest passions, and it’s a process I approach with deep creativity and care. When I create a routine, I start by immersing myself in the music. For me, music isn’t just a backdrop—it’s the driving force behind every movement. I pay close attention to the rhythm, melody, and emotional tone of each track, letting the music guide the flow of the routine. This focus on musicality is at the heart of what makes my routines unique. I want every movement to feel as though it’s a natural extension of the music, creating an experience that’s both seamless and deeply connected.
Balance is another key element I prioritize in my choreography. I aim to create routines that are well-rounded, offering a mix of energy, fun, and introspection. It’s important to me that each class feels complete—energizing your body while also providing moments of reflection and calm. I believe this balance is what makes my routines not just workouts, but holistic experiences that nurture both body and soul.
I also love co-creating routines with friends and fellow instructors. Collaboration brings together the best of both minds and opens up new creative possibilities. The exchange of ideas and perspectives enriches the choreography, leading to routines that are dynamic, innovative, and full of life. Whether I’m working solo or with a partner, my goal is always to create something that resonates with students and elevates their practice.
