“Nia has given me powerful tools for living my life with greater authenticity, engagement, and joy. As a 60-year-old woman, professional, mother, widow, musician, survivor, teacher, I have realized that the healthiest way for me to navigate life is to start first by listening to this body, rather than try to ignore it, or push it harder, or be mad at it, or disappointed in its imperfections, which has been my lifelong habit as an adult. I’m finding a new way with Nia, and it’s giving me tools in all areas of my life. My music has found a deeper freedom of expression, my grief has new channels through instead of getting stuck, and I feel more flexible overall in my thinking. I find creative sparks and more joy informing my approach to the inevitable challenges of life. Kellie is a masterful teacher and mentor, at all levels of practice. If you haven’t tried Nia, please join us! It’s an incredible community of wise and wonderful souls.”
“Kellie has always been so inviting and accepting of all forms of body movements in her Nia classes. I remember being so self conscious because I’ve always told myself that “I can’t dance”. After attending classes and reading the inspirational messages up front I realized that all I need to do is to “just move”. Just put one foot in front of the other and twirl and move around and before I knew it I had lost my belief about my dancing. Nia is so freeing! Thanks, Kellie for unlocking the dancer inside of me.”
“I know it is trite to say that “words cannot describe” but it is very challenging to contain within words the impact dancing NIA with Kellie has had on my life this last year. Kellie can be described with many superlatives, some of which are; bright, joyful, silly, playful, amazing dancer. She brings all of these qualities to the dance floor. But, her most outstanding quality is how genuine, vulnerable, and real she is. She makes each and every one of us feel special and unique and encourages us to explore that uniqueness each day. This crazy Covid year, with all of its negativity and loneliness, has instead been transformed into a wonderful year of joy and self- exploration thanks to dancing with Kellie as often as possible.”
